When I was twenty-one years old, someone gave me the book: ”The Giving Tree”. I had never been given a book like this before, especially as a grown up. As I began to read the book I learned that it had a very special message. That message became a lesson I learned about giving and taking.

Though this book is written in a simple way, it spoke to me very loudly. I learned at the time that I was the one who kept taking and not giving. It was a profound “ eye-opener” . It also taught me that there are people who honestly give out of genuine love.

Later in life, I kept the message of this book in my heart, and the book on my shelf. It is a book I read often. However, now that I have grown up and become a mother, I also had to learn how to give. Learning how to become the tree who gave until there was nothing left to give was hard for me. Now, I am the one who people can come to and rest
